MODIFICATION OF RULE 92(22)

APPLICATION FOR HEAD OR REAR END POSITION

The modification of Rule 92(22) dated June 23, 1971 (effective July l5, 1971) is canceled and the following modification shall apply in lieu thereof:

Rule 92(22) The senior brakemen in pool freight service having written application on file for head end or rear end position will be assigned to such position when crews are added to the freight pool, or when permanent vacancies otherwise occur in the freight poo1 .

A1l applications on file will expire on June 30 and December 3l of each year. If a brakeman wishes to renew an application for a subsequent six month period, he must do so during the five day period preceding June 30 and December 3l.

Applications shall not be honored unless they have been on file at least five (5) days prior to date of addition of crews or assignment of vacancies. This provision is not applicable during periods January l to 5 or July l to 5.

Brakemen shall not submit more than one new election in any 30 day period.

This modification shall be effective January 1, 1980 on a local option basis (mutual agreement between Local Chairman and Company Official) and will terminate ten (10) days after written notice is served by either party.
