AGREEMENT

between the

UNION PACIFIC  RAILROAD COMPANY
EASTERN DISTRICT

and the
CONDUCTORS

represented by

ORDER OF RAILWAY CONDUCTORS
AND BRAKEMEN

TWO AND THREE WEEK VACATIONS-
DIVIDED INTO TWO PERIODS


It is agreed:

1. Conductors qualified to receive two or three weeks vacation
under the agreement elective January 1, 1954, who are working
at district terminals of extra conductors, may request permission
to take one week or two consecutive weeks of their vacation in
advance of the scheduled vacation period under the same condi-
tions that such employes are permitted to change their vacations
in accordance with the provisions of Section 6 of agreement,
"Vacation Schedules", dated February 10, 1954, reading: ad
follows:

"Vacations as selected in accordance with the above will be
shown on the vacation schedule separately for conductors and
brakemen for each seniority roster, and copy furnished the
respective local chairmen. Dates selected will not be subject to
change thereafter except that if it is found there is a surplus of
men in any seniority district, employes desiring vacation at that
time may be relieved on request of the individual and approval
of the officer in charge, giving preference to senior men, and
assigned vacation period cancelled."

2. The request showing the advance period selected shall be
made in writing to the appropriate supervising officer by the indi-
vidual conductor who may be relieved at that time, if there is a
surplus of extra conductors available, upon approval of that officer.
If more than one request is made for the same period, preference
will be given in seniority order of conductors.

3. Conductors who are permitted to advance one or two con-
secutive weeks of their vacation will submit separate time returns
for the advanced portion, and the regularly scheduled portion, and
payroll allowances will be made accordingly.

4. It is understood this agreement applies onl7 at district termi-
nals of extra conductors and that no time claims will be recog-
nized because of the splitting of vacations.

5. This agreement is elective March 16, 1957 and will auto-
matically terminate ten days after either party serves written
notice upon the other of desire to terminate it.
