RULE 34. ARBITRARY
ALLOWANCES.
Note: The provisions
of Rule 34 do not reflect the amendments thereto contained in the 6/25/64
National Agreement, and the 8/25/78 National Agreement, which are reproduced in
Appendix "C".
(a) Turning Engines at Wye at
Evanston and Rock Springs. (1) Train crews will be allowed arbitrary of one hour
at pro rata rate when required to turn their engine on wye at Evanston when it
is their terminal.
(2) Pool freight train crews
required to turn engine on wye at Evanston and leave it for use of another crew
will be allowed local freight rates of pay for the trip.
(3) Train crews
required to turn their engine on wye at Evanston on turn-around trip will be
allowed one hour at pro rata rate.
(4) Time consumed in turning
engine at Rock Springs when it is the crew's terminal will be considered initial
terminal time and minimum terminal allowance will be one hour at pro rata rate,
except when crew also performs yard switching for which payment is made under
Rule 32(K), time consumed in turning engine on wye will be included with other
penalty time.
(b) Train crews will be
allowed an arbitrary hour at pro rata rate when required to turn their engine on
wye at Rawlins on inbound trip.
(c) Train crews will be
allowed an arbitrary hour when they actually assist in turning locomotives on
manually operated turntables at Echo, Lawrence and Manhattan. The same allowance
will be made when train crews actually assist in turning equipment on manually
operated turntables at those points.
