RULE 33.  LONG FIELDMEN.  (a) At terminals where in the judgment of the management a long fieldman (car rider) is required, it is agreed:

 

            (1) That he will perform the duties of a yardman by assisting in yard work with any crew during his tour of duty within a designated area.

 

            (2) That in order to avoid tying up an engine he may be used as the third member of a crew account illness or injury to a regular member of a crew.  It is understood that, subject to subsection (4), an extra man will be called as soon as possible, and in the event there is an extra man available and he is not called, he will be allowed a minimum day's pay.

 

            (3) That, subject to subsection (4), he may be used as the third member of a crew at the beginning or completion of shift account number of a crew tying up due to Hours of Service Act one no extra man or available, and in the event there is an extra man available and he is not called, he will be allowed a minimum day's pay.

 

            (4) When a member of a yard crew is relieved account illness, injury, or the application of the Hours of Service law and there is one hour and 30 minutes or less remaining in that shift, you will not be necessary to call an extra man.  If there is more than one hour and 30 minutes remaining until the assigned off-duty time of the crew and the assignment continues to operate an extra yard man will be called as soon as possible, and in the event there is an extra man available and he is not called, he will be allowed a minimum day's pay.
