RULE 60. DOUBLING, LAP BACK AND SIDE TRIPS. When engineers are required to make lap back trips, side trips on diverging lines between their terminals, required to double hills, or run for fuel and/or water, miles run will be added to the mileage of the regular trip and paid for on continuous time basis.

NOTE: Crews on regularly assigned local or mixed runs of less than 100 miles will be compensated for side or lap back trips, in accordance with provisions of Rule 23(i).
