MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
#2207269865

between the
UNION PACIFIC RAILROAD COMPANY
for the territory - Eastern District
and the

UNITED TRANSPORTATION UNION

ZONE 500 - MULTIPLE REPORTING POINTS
SALT LAKE CITY TERMINAL

The following pool freight turns are currently assigned in the Salt Lake City Terminal:
CMS ID # POOL ON-DUTY POINT
RT81/RT99  Salt Lake City/Green River North Yard
RT10 Salt Lake City/EIko North Yard
RT98 Salt Lake City/Pocatello North Yard
RT97 Salt Lake City/Ogden North Yard
RT49 Salt Lake City/Milford North Yard
RT43 Salt Lake City/Provo
Helper/Grand Junction
Roper Yard

As the parties have discussed in the past, it is not uncommon for a crew to be called and upon reporting for duty at their on duty point, transported to the other Salt Lake City Yard for train operation. This delay often results in terminal congestion and limits the time on duty for crews to take their train to the away from home terminal. This multiple reporting point is a problem not only for the Carrier but is an unnecessary delay which frustrates the employees.

In an effort to alleviate this problem, Carrier proposes employees assigned to the above-listed pools will report to a selected yard (North or Roper Yard) upon advice at call time rather than their designated on-duty yard point. This will eliminate the delay in transporting the crew to the selected yard which will in turn improve the train time performance of the crews.

Crews who were called to report to other than their assigned on duty yard point will be allowed, in addition to all other earnings of their assignment, an allowance of $10.00. This allowance will be payable to all crew members, regular or extra and will be subject to future wage adjustment including COLA. This allowance will not be used as an offset to an employee's New York Dock protection or any other guarantee due.

In addition, if upon return to the Salt Lake City Terminal an employee's automobile is at the other yard, the employee will remain under final terminal delay or overtime and will not tie up until transported to the other yard. For employees hired after October 31,1985, they will be compensated at the pro rata rate on a minute basis for all time in excess of forty-five (45) minutes from the time of arrival at the rate paid for the last service performed until transported to the other yard.

Carrier believes this arrangement will improve the train performance in Salt Lake City Terminal which is a concern of Carrier and the employees.

This Agreement is made without prejudice to either parties position and will not be cited as a precedent in any future cases. This Agreement will become effective on November 1, 1998, and will remain in place unless canceled by either party in the future with the serving of a thirty (30) advance day notice.

Signed this 15th day of October, 1998.
