DETOURING
Detouring Over Foreign Lines
Or Via Diverging ‑Lines: When trainmen are detoured over a foreign line,
or via diverging line, and run through between terminals of assignment, account
wrecks, washouts or other track obstructions, they will be paid the mileage of
regular assignment. Where mileage made over such foreign line or diverging line
is in excess of the mileage of the regular assignment, they will be paid on the
basis of the mileage run. In case mountain rates or constructive miles are paid
in territory over which detour movement is made, Northwestern District mountain
rate or constructive miles will apply.
